Decent quality bag, after about a year of daily use between work, hiking it showed some signs of wear. I decided to replace it with a canvas Frost River pack instead (quite a bit more expensive but more durable for sure) . The bag will work decent for hiking However the top pocket is a bit of a design flaw with the zippers. If it's heavy in the top pocket and you open up the main pocket it will open the rest of the way up, not a terrible thing but kind of annoying to have to "chase" the top of your bag to close it back up. Easy access for things inside but I wish it was more divided. All in all for the price it's a pretty decent backpack, just a few design flaws, and might not hold up to long term daily use.
I had the earlier model of the canyon 30L and really liked it. I had an issue with the zipper on it and got it replaced by the company, its so awesome when companies stick by their warranties. Anyway I got a replacment, but its the newer model with a "Full Access" zipper to the main compartment. I've been using the bag for a few days now, and keep almost dropping things out of my bag when trying to open just the top of it. If you have anything of weight in the brain, and then open the zipper to the main compartment a little bit, the weight in the brain will pull the bag open all the way. I hope they go back to the drawing board and maybe add an additional zipper on the side of the main compartment to provide full access rather than keeping the giant zipper. Thats my two cents anyway.
