Nothing interesting about the fabric. It is lightweight and works fine. It gets sticky if you store it hot & moist, like tents from 20 years ago. Unlike those old tents, this one entirely clips to the poles, which means you can put up the poles on the footprint and put the rain fly over them, and assemble the rest of the tent from inside the rain fly vestibule in a tropical rainstorm. Yep, I did that. I also took it down in reverse so that I could keep the tent kinda dry as I folded it. So definitely get the footprint to make that possible. My 2019 tent has not leaked in a rainstorm. Side blown rain can come under the fly, but it won't get into the inner tent and serves as ventelation. My tent just remains a tad sticky, but not near needing to be replaced yet. Solid value. Poles are strong. Extra height is nice for getting dressed. Fly can be rolled back to the crossbar for stargazing. With the equivalent MSR tents costing double or triple, I'm always happy to use this Alps tent and I don't have to worry about damage costing me a fortune.
