ALPS Mountaineering Zephyr 2-Person
Free-standing 2-person mesh tent
The Zephyr model is ideal for those hot, muggy nights when you want to feel a breeze in your tent. The walls are composed entirely of mesh, allowing maximum ventilation and fresh air. The unique 2 pole design gives you more head room to sit up, without feeling cramped. The Zephyr features aircraft alloy aluminum poles, which are strong and lightweight. There are two doors to make it easy to get in and out of the tent, and a vestibule over both doors for a great place to store your extra gear. The fly buckles to the tent, offering a much more secure attachment when compared to elastic cord. Incredible ventilation, great head room, and lightweight... a great combination, creating a high quality tent!

9 years and still going

I bought this tent in spring of 2011. I have used it many, many times and have put it through the wringer. Guiding trips throughout midwest and southwest and moving to Alaska and using extensively. I've never had a problem with zippers, tears, poles, etc. This tent has never failed me. Accomodates two plus a dog (I'm 6'6"), enough for sleeping, wouldn't call it spacious but it certainly does the job. Light enough to stuff down you and your partners packs to go just about anywhere. Grab a footprint that will fit and leave the tent behind for a fly-shelter, or leave the fly and enjoy the full mesh for clear nights. As the title states, 9 years. Still going. Find another for the price that will give you that. Enough said.

Amazing bang for the buck!

Got this tent for Christmas last year. Have taken it on a few backpacking trips and love it!

The last trip was with my wife and 3 year old. We all slept cozily inside even as it thunderstormed all night! Was impressed at how dry everything stayed and had no issues. Highly recommended.

A buddy has an REI 2 person and watched me set this up in half the time it took him.

Awesome bang for your buck

I have been a wilderness junkie for over four decades. This is a lightweight and very durable tent. My kids and I have rode out some bad storms in this tent and it has held up perfectly. It states 2 person but one adult plus two younger children works fine for us. The fly covers almost to the ground so no rain soaks through the sides. The two vestibules offer plenty of room for gear to stay outside without getting wet. I highly recommend the Zephyr series of tents.
